I dowloaded Dvd Decryter, MPEG Streamclip, and bought the decoder. However, I am having problems. I try to open the files through MPEG streamclip, but it through is no picture only sound or it will say there is a problem with this file. Do I need to do something else, than simply buying and downloading decoder? BTW I have never made a video before, and I have always wanted to! I have read through out the website and forum, but can't seem to figure out to fix these problems. Please help!

Thanks Elvira! (I know this is an old post, but it deserves thanks nonetheless.) I've been working on my first vid and I was using Handbrake to rip/convert, then MPEG streamclip to convert to DV. I did not appreciate the difference between software that rips and software that rips and converts until I started browsing these forums. The files that Handbrake was producing were < 1 Gb for a 45 minute episode. It seemed strange to me that MPEG Streamclip was converting a ~500 Mb file to a ~10 Gb file! I've just downloaded Mac the Ripper and will use that from now on.
I did notice that my Mac the Ripper includes a "De-Macrovision" box that is default checked; this appears to be a change from the version you used in this tutorial. I left it that way -- any reason I should uncheck it?

Jumping in here. I am an old vidder from the 2 vcr's days. (so yeah, I'm old!) I've decided to finally try to vid in the digital age. I want to remaster some of my old vids.
I've been reading and my head is just swimming. Thanks for all the tutorials
I have Mac the Ripper and I ripped all the eps from the first dvd. It seemed to be fine, but I finally actually listened to it and it's not English. I've tried googling the problem, but not finding anything that helps me.
I use flv crunch to convert my vob files. I am open to getting another converter if needed. I have Handbrake downloaded, but I don't understand how to use it yet. I've used Mac the Ripper in the past, so I can at least use it a bit.
Any clue what's going on??

I have Lion on my mac, so the old versions of MactheRipper don't work for me (power pc error). I found this link a week ago, and it is for a MactheRipper 3R14, and it works fine. I wanted to share with you guys because this site has always gotten me out of jams and I think this would be useful for you all: osx.tribe.net/thread/7f54901f-cf53-4116-a55f-6fad43748833
