You can press the 3rd icon on the bottom row of tags (the one with a world below the underline tag) to get the url tags or you can just type them. The tags are . To add the link and text explaining a link, type: Text explaining link. Unlike html links, you do not need to use quotations " " around the link. Just be sure to include the equal sign.

I only used the "" to emphasize my help-me example. I've never put any links in quotes before.

Two of my four tries were halfway successful but half the link still showed up in two of them. What did I do wrong? Could you give me step by step instructions please. Because I'm missing a step or repeating a step or something. And I'm very frustrated that I'm not getting it right.

But because I'm stubborn I'll keep trying until I get the instructions. Yes, I am THAT computer obtuse that I need step by step instructions for something this simple.

Copy this code, but use your own URL and your own descriptive text for the link:

That will look like this:

Foolish Passion

I sometimes like to add an underline to the code, so the link is underlined. The code for that would look like this:

[url=http://www.foolishpassion.org][u]Foolish Passion[/u][/url]

And this is how that link will look:

Foolish Passion

Would someone please explain to me what things like "newbie" "getting used to the place" "hopeless case" "master vidder" , etc, mean. Are they just about how many posts someone has, or do they entail more?

I used to run a Proboard (just like this one) and the admin can set fun little titles for everyone that members achieve when they reach certain post counts (which the admin can also set).

For instance:
0-50 posts: Newbie
50-250: getting used to the place

and on and on. I'm sure Elvira just chose the designations in fun. They aren't meant to represent you personally or mean anything.

I'm not trying to speak for Elvira, but I'm almost positive this is how it works
